DIY May Day Basket

DIY May Day Basket

A few years ago, I received a little May Day surprise.

The day started just like any other day. I woke up, got ready for work, and on my way out the door, I was stopped by a surprise on my front step. My friend had created a little May Day basket for me.

It’s hard not to have a good day after that. It was a simple basket but it was so thoughtful of them to think of me and to take the time to wish me a Happy May Day :)

Why in the world don’t we do this for people more often? Why don't we do these simple acts of kindness to help spread joy, and make our friends, family and neighbors smile?

Now each May Day, I create little baskets of my own. I like to add homemade baked goods to the baskets.

These baskets are so easy to put together, so I included instructions below. I really enjoy handing these out on May 1st each year. It’s a simple way to spread some smiles.

How To Make Paper May Day Baskets:

1. Trace and cut an 8in x 8in square on construction paper or scrapbook paper

2. Fold it to the corner (shown in the picture)

3. Fold corner up

4. Round into a cone and tape the cone shut.
